Prof. Chetan Wakalkar is the Managing Trustee of the Shree Chanakya Education Society and Group Director of the Indira Group of Institutes, Pune.

Having completed his Bachelor’s in Electronics and Telecommunication and an MBA from PUMBA- Pune University, Chetan is a product of that city to the development of which he has contributed in abundant measure. After a short stint with India Tele-comp Ltd. he opted for a career in the education service sector & has largely been responsible for the development of the various Academic Programmes at the Indira Group.

He is also one of the youngest authors to have written a book on Fundamentals of Services Management in 1996, the publisher, Everest Publishing House, has sold over 5000 copies of the same. He is the Chairman of CII-Young Indian – Pune Chapter for the year 2008-09. He presented a paper on “Management Education Trends in India” at the Global Education Forum, at Bangkok, which incidentally is the largest educational conference and exhibition in the world, and where his paper was well received. In addition, Chetan has successfully completed a number of consultancy assignments for organisations like VSNL, Indian Institute of Rural Banking, Talera Group of Hotels, Classic Exports and Aquarius Ventures. He is an avid golfer and enjoys travelling.
